Landgut Stober Becomes a Certified Event Location

Even a person as experienced as Michael Stober can be left puzzled or frowning in anger by some bizarre decisions. That is exactly what happened at the end of 2015, when a name change became unavoidable following a ruling by Germany's Federal Court of Justice. Since then the official name has been: "Landgut Stober" There is also a short statement from Michael Stober: "YES YOU ARE RIGHT! Unfortunately, due to a bizarre decision by the Federal Court of Justice, we had to move to Landgut Stober and are no longer allowed to name ourselves after the deserving Borsig family who has built and operated this estate over three generations. Sincerely, "Your Landgut team" For the team in Nauen, this decision so shortly before the turn of the year meant a lot of work and stress - something everyone in Groß Behnitz would certainly have preferred to avoid.
LANDGUT STOBER WITH A NEW CERTIFICATION AND NAME
The fact that 2015 ended on a positive note may also be due to the fact that, in addition to the Certified Conference Hotel and Certified Green Hotel certifications, Landgut Stober recently also became a Certified Event Location. Located on the shores of a lake in the Havelland region, Landgut Stober has already received several awards and accolades for its qualities as a conference hotel. There is no question that the certified organic hotel (Bioland) is also well suited to hosting events and conferences.
Weddings, birthdays, company celebrations and festivals can also be held amid the impressive brick industrial architecture of a bygone era. In order to offer guests and event organisers a high level of safety and comfort, it was a logical step for the model estate in Brandenburg to undergo the Certified Event Location assessment. This was intended to establish another distinguishing feature compared with competitors in nearby Potsdam and the Spreewald region.
Certified chief auditor Holger Leisewitz, Conference & Event Management Team Leader at Beiersdorf AG and chief auditor for VDR hotel certification, gave the following overall assessment:
“A familiar and highly regarded member of the Certified family: now also only the second certified event location in Germany. Unique industrial design, spacious grounds with a private lake and woodland. The former cattle barn provides everything needed for both conferences and exceptional events. The large courtyard is ideal for all kinds of performances, barbecues, markets and the like. The rooms in the granary or the distillery are rustic yet modern, the farm shop offers regionally produced arts and crafts and delicacies, and there is even a wedding venue in the former estate manager's building. The adjacent, energy self-sufficient hotel offers accommodation after the event. An extremely courteous team fulfils almost all wishes according to the motto: Nothing is impossible!”
